M. Cecilia Amo, Esq. has had extensive experience handling personal injury cases. While in law school, Ms. Amo worked as the Senior Litigation Paralegal at the law firm of Lederer Nojima, LLP where she was highly involved in cases which resulted in combined settlements and verdicts in excess of five million dollars. She joined the prestigious Cochran Firm - Los Angeles in 2005 and gained valuable experience assisting in multiple high-profile cases. In 2006, M. Cecilia Amo was the first Filipino-American attorney to be hired at the Cochran Firm - Los Angeles and was an associate in the Cochran Firm's Civil Litigation Practice Group with an emphasis on elder abuse, products liability, and catastrophic personal injury cases until 2008.
Ms. Amo currently serves as a member of the Board of Governors for the Philippine American Bar Association of Los Angeles (PABA), an organization which sponsors and encourages public service to the Filipino-American community through such activities as community legal clinics on various areas of the law while also seeking to meet the professional concerns of Filipino-American attorneys in Southern California. She is also an active member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA) and the Japanese-American Bar Association (JABA).
Ms. Amo is admitted to practice before all California state courts and all United States District Courts for the Central District of California.
Ms. Amo graduated from Whittier College in 2002 with a Bachelor of the Arts in Political Science and a minor in French. She received her J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law in 2006.
She speaks fluent Tagalog as well as conversational French.
